Go Sheng on NTV AM Live Breakfast Show

NTV, the television arm of one of Kenya's largest media houses, Nation Media Group, on February 5th 2015 invited Go Sheng team members Josphat Mukaya and Kelvin Okoth as guests to the live breakfast show dubbed 'A.M LIVE' hosted by Sheila Mwanyigah and Kobi Kihara . This gave Go Sheng the chance to showcase the Sheng language and culture, its heritage and the ongoing debate on its legitimacy. Audience engagement was once again impressive, with a lot of feedback from audiences on Twitter, Facebook and telephone call-ins. One particular caller, Teacher Patricia, made an impression with her assertion that while Sheng was increasingly being accepted as part of Kenya's urban cultural fabric, it still played a huge part in degenerating the standards of proper English and Swahili among students, an allegation that remains unsubstantiated based on the fact that Sheng or even mother tongue languages cannot degenerate what was never there.
